Comber PB33

The PB33 is part of the PB30–PB33 combing machine series from NSC Schlumberger, widely used in worsted and semi-worsted textile fibre preparation for combing to produce cleaner, more aligned slivers before drawing/spinning.

Operation & Speed

High-speed combing action similar to other modern rectilinear comb machines.
Documented combs in this series operate up to ≈260 cycles/nips per minute, with advanced brush removal and adjustable pressure features on the beard for better performance.

General Function

  • Removes short fibres (noil) and improves fibre parallelisation.
  • Works on wool and long staple fibres (sometimes acrylic or blends depending on mill setup).

(Based on general PB series combers in spinning mills)

While specific official paperwork on the PB33’s exact “factory” specs (motor power, nip distances, feed lengths, weight) isn’t freely available online, existing industry references show that:
✅ It’s a high-speed rectilinear combing machine designed for wool/long fibre preparation.
✅ It runs at 260 nips/min with quick-release circular brush and adjustable settings.
✅ Delivery cans are large sizes like 800×1200 mm or 1000×1200 mm.
✅ It’s comparable in workstyle to other PB series machines (PB31/PB32).
